simple joys

You know what brings me joy?  My life.  Seriously.  And although i really like busy, fun filled weeks, i also enjoy just having time to sit back and relax.  This week was one of those 'chill' kinda weeks.  Not too much happened.  But, I am happy.  My kids are happy.  Paul is happy.  We are just enjoying life.  :)
Oh, and Paul received some good news/ feedback at work.  I am proud of him and all of his hard work.  I know that he will go far!  His future with this company has AMAZING potential!

Okay, so here are some of the fun events of the week:
 Yum- Dairy Queen!
Spent the morning with Tiffany & her girls at San
Tan Mall's splash pad & had yummy ice cream too!

Peyton has discovered her new favorite spot...
it's laying on the ground.  Seriously, she is so content to
just lay in the middle of the floor on the blanket, looking
at her hands and wiggling her feet.  Once, she
even fell asleep! (thus, this pic!)

 Mikayla & Brightlie!!!!
Cute girls!  Enjoying a day of fun, sun, cute suits, and
a huge pool!  What a blast!

On Sat. afternoon, the four of us packed up and
headed off to the movie theater to watch ICE AGE #4.
Brightlie loves the "ice age" movies, so we were so excited to take her!
PLUS, this was her 1st time ever to the theater!!!  What fun!
(Sorry, i couldn't get her to look at the camera!)
Although she was looking around in awe, (& not quite sure
what to make of it once she saw so many other people inside)
she loved eating yummy popcorn & candy, and the movie was really cute!
What a fun adventure for our family!  Great Sat. activity!

On our drive home, we got to race the haboob/storm that
was heading our way- pretty neat huh?!

Well, that is about all for this week. We are looking forward to August, and the hope of fall in the upcoming months... it is just too hot!  But, life is good, and we are doing well!

Picture time!!!!

Well, this week has been crazy!  For one, the weather has been dusty, winding, and rainy all week!  That means horrible humidity, but i sure do love a good monsoon storm, and i'm glad that the monsoon season is starting early this year.  Secondly, we celebrated a lot of b-days... Paul's mom turned 60, sister Sage turned the big 16 (dating age!), other sis Chelsea turned 21!  and Nana Biggs turned 80!!!!!  (so there have been having lots of birthday dinners and parties to attend)....  of course that meant, PICTURE TIME!  Get ready, lots of pictures, lots of fun!!!
 Nana Biggs
8o years old- still looks good & still young at heart!

 Happy 21st b-day Chelsea!
We celebrated by eating dinner at Joe's bbq
and shopping at Express for a bunch of cute clothes!

Little Miss SAGE is now 16!
(the youngest of Paul's siblings)
The whole family celebrated at Red Robin for her b-day dinner.

Brightlie went to the Dentist for the 1st time this week!  She hardly cried, and although she held my hand the entire time, she quickly warmed up to the dentist and his assistant and did great at "opening wide" so they could see her teeth.
No cavities, good spacing, & a lovely smile :)

Brightlie and Peyton are so much fun!  They love each other so much.  Brightlie is very aware of Peyton: wants to hold her/ help feed her, wakes Peyton up to 'come play' with her, brings her toys, and likes to sit next to Peyton on the floor during a movie.  It is so sweet, and i can't wait til they are old enough to play together!
Brightlie Donna & Peyton Sage

Paul loves his new job.  He loves his PS3.  He loves being a dad.  I love shopping.  I love re-reading Twilight.  I love Pinterest.  We love date nights.  We love our new car.  We love talking to each other and our silly conversations/inside jokes.  We love that Paul doesn't have hw!!!  We love painting our home and planning projects via pinterest.  We love our sweet girls!  We love our family & friends.  We pretty much just love our life together!
Me & my sexy man!!!

(ps. Also this week (although no picture) i have started working out 4 days a week with my friend from church, Kacy Hughes!  I am excited to get to know her and become good friends. And I also and hoping to loose a few lbs. and tone up!)

Oh, and just to sum up this past week, here are a few fun pictures.... candid 'life at our home' moments!
 Me & my sweet girls!

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Life at the Reidhead's home this past week was lots of fun!  Paul and i have been painting and discovered thatthe paint colors we chose looked bad on our walls.  So now we get to fix that mess :)  Hopefully i will have fun pics of the improved finished look this next week.  We also went
on a fun double date with our friends the Anderson's (Dion & Elisha) to Texas Road house for dinner
and then we saw the new Spider-Man movie!  I loved it. :) So glad we have such great friends!
(Oh, and the biggest event that occurred was the 4th of July!!!!)

Brightlie & Peyton
Our adorable girlies!!! :)  I love that Brightlie enjoys sitting by
Peyton to watch a movie, and always makes sure
to include Peyton in her daily activities... meals, singing songs, playing, etc.

Peyton is almost 3 months old!  crazy how fast time flies...
We love this little girl, and she is such a doll!  We have nick-named her
SMILEY cuz lately she smiles and has a cute grin on her face all the time!
She is almost into size 2 diapers, wears 0-3moth clothes, (although some are getting tight)
She is about 11 lbs., and has bright blue eyes. She enjoys being held, does well in the ergo carrier
and bumbo, still sleeps alot, and is already scooting around on the floor during
tummy time as she pushes her legs with all her might! She is strong and loves
to stand and kick her legs!

Celebrating the 4th of July!!!
The girls were decked out in red, white, and blue!!!

(Look at that pose and face- our future "Miss America"!)

My friend Elisha and her hubby Dion threw a big 4th of July bash at their house!
We ate great food, the kids all played, and everyone had lots of fun.
Then we all watched the Schnepf Farm's fireworks show (since they live right behind
Schnepf Farms).  It was a blast!!!

Me, Brightlie, her friend Kylee, and Elisha!

 What cuties!!!

Peyton was passed around all night, and
loved being held by Elisha's Mom, who graciously took
a picture at the request of Brightlie!

Elisha and her youngest, Mikayla!
(Mine & Brightlie's best friends!)

I am so happy to be an American!  We love living in a country that allows us to worship and live
the way we choose!  God Bless America!

the doc prescribed "retail therapy"

Okay, so this past week has been pretty fun, although simple too.  Yet, somehow busy as well.  And although no major catastrophes occurred, this week has seemed stressful, despite lots of fun activities.

 At home...
We decided that we need to paint out house now that Paul
has a job that will keep us here in out home for a few more years!
We are going to be painting and doing all kinds of Pinterest projects
to make our home more trendy!
So we are starting with Peyton's room & the family room.
This is our first time tackling a painting project, and it has been lots of fun!
Can't wait to see it all done, pics to come soon!
Our girls are doing well!  Brightlie is a great big sister, and has asked to
hold Peyton several times this week.  She is also really good
about telling me if Peyton is sad, getting her a binky, or helping me with diaper
chnages!  And Peyton has started smiling more this week, and
responds with enthusiasm to Brightlie's voice!

out & about...
We love going on monthly lunch dates with Nana Biggs-
The girls looked so cute in their matching dresses!
We also played with Tiffany Stradling and her girls (Kate, Ellie & of course,
baby boy Colter) . And B had her friend Mikayla over this week, and Aunt Chelsea
came to play/visit this week too!  So we had lots of fun with our friends!

on my mind...
I have done a lot of thinking this is week. Here is my epiphany:  Life is like shopping.  (Yep, leave it to me to come to this conclusion).  Shopping.... sometimes you go to the mall and you find great deals!  Other times, you are having a fat day and nothing looks right, fits right, and by the end of your trip you feel like crap, and you may even cry.  But, there is always another sale around the corner if you search.  And sometimes you have to just go with the flow, and hope to get lucky and possibly find some great stuff. And although sometimes you may have a bad shopping day, it's not like you can just never go out to a store again.  You just have to try again another day.  :)  hahaha- so that is my analogy for the week- enjoy.

Basically, this week i have really had a hard time being patient with my kiddos.  And not even a hard time being patient as much as just wanting and needing some space away from them, to just breathe and be me for two seconds.  Sometimes being a Mom just feels overwhelming! So, to in order to re-group, i decided to go on a well-deserved, doctor's orders (yep, i'm a doctor now, didn't you know?), get out of the house and have some "me time",  RETAIL THERAPY.  It truly heals the soul.  :)  (Mine anyways!)
at Last Chance: my AMAZING shopping deals
Current price @ Nordstrom / Sale price at Last Chance
1. AG Adriano Goldschmied Jeans- $164.00 / $29.99
2. Teal shirt-  $32.00 / $5.99
3. Reef shimmer gold 1.5' in. flip flops- $30.00 / $14.99
4.  Enzo Angiolini high heels (nude/neutral color) $99.99 / $18.99

So, today Paul graciously babysat (Peyton, Brightlie, and B's friend Mikayla) so that my friend Elisha and I could go on a shopping date. let me tell you, it was amazing!!!!  We went to Last Chance and i am officially addicted!  (Last Chance is the mark-downs from Nordstrom!)   i was so happy about the clothes i found, and it was so great to have Elisha with me- she loves to shop just as much as me!!!!  I finally got some "me time" and it was just what i needed!   Let a new week begin!
