Falls, Flying, Friends, Family, Food & Fun!

January is coming to close! I can't believe how fast time goes when you are having fun! Life at our home is good- it is in the mid-70 degrees outside. Brightlie is growing, playing, talking/jabbering, and into everything! Paul is back in school- I am doing in-home child care. Our days are filled with lots of adventures... take a look!

Brightlie loves hiding in her closet :) The other day Paul couldn't find her...
yep, he missed the closet!

She loves the new vacuum popper toy we bought her, and
runs all around the house with it!

She is learning to eat with a spoon- quite a mess,
but lots of fun!

Saturday night we all went out for
yummy food- TEXAS ROAD HOUSE!

We love living in Q.C. and enjoy our home and the
amazing 70 degree weather!
B and daddy like flying his remote control helicopter
(yes, in my house!)

Brightlie thinks riding on
daddy's shoulders is the best!

Our lil girl is finally starting to realize on her
own when she is tired, and grabs her blanket & a pillow

B's first big fall- holding a large fisher-price train,
she was running along and fell face first on our carpet....
still it was a scary sight to see the blood running out of her nose!

Brightlie enjoys spending 1-2 days per week with her
new friends! (And mommy likes the $) These girls
have a lot of fun together, which makes it very enjoyable!

New Week, New JOB!!!!

This week has been a good one! Lately I have been feeling that I really needed to stay home with Brightlie. However, with Paul in school, his part-time income is not sufficient. Thus, I need to work or he would have to quit school. Neither option is very happy. This is the dilemma we have been facing despite prayer and fasting....but this time I think we (with the Lord) found the answer :)
So, I quit my current job as my Aunt's receptionist... Yep- I was making the same amount almost that I was paying my sitter! So, with continued prayer, I have decided to do in-home CHILDCARE! I spent all last week turning our spare bedroom into a playroom, buying toys at children's resale stores, buying baby items (bouncers, tummy mats, etc.) and then finally posted my add on Craigslist. I have already had some success! Starting this week I will watch 2 girls (ages 1 & 2.5) part-time, 2-4 days per week. Then starting in Feb., I will watch a 7 WEEK old little girl full-time M-F, 7Am-3:30PM. I am so excited!!! I get to stay home with Brightlie and watch other people's lil ones. And Brightlie really likes the other lil girls, and was just staring at the baby (currently only 3 weeks old). Hopefully this will work out fabulously! :) This is my new adventure this week- her are some photos....

Brightlie today in her pretty new dress,
made by her Grandma Reidhead (Paul's Mom)!

Can you guess this weeks new trick?
Brightlie thinks it is fun to try to wear mommy's shoes
Yep, my shoes are all over my closet & house! :)

Pretty in Pink - new pjs!

Happy girl in her rocking chair!

Mommy & Brightlie!

Daddy & Brightlie!

Paul surpirsed me with roses this week,
for no apparent reason. That makes them even better!
Thanks Paul- you're the best!

Although it doesn't look as exciting in this pic,
This is Brightlie's play room. There are chinese ball/lanterns,
a picnic table, wall decor i made, there is a bulletin cork board for
the kids art work, & a dresser with lots of toys in all the drawers! You can't see the bulletin
board or dresser in this photo, but it really is a fun bright room!

Playing at the Park!

This weekend was very relaxing and enjoyable as we enjoyed our last minutes with Paul (dada) before the spring semester begins. Paul spent the week helping rearrange our home (new couch!!!), completing Brightlie's 2 belated Christmas presents, playing with us at the park, and taking us out to eat on Sat. night for dinner & shopping! We enjoyed spending time with him, and although we are sad to see him start school, we are proud of his efforts to get an education!

Our new couch...

Out for family night @ Red Robin on sat.

Cutie- patootie! 1st time wearing sunglasses...

The toy chest daddy made for B

The big picnic/play table daddy made for the playroom

At the park on Friday afternoon, Brightlie discovered that:
She LOVED the slides!!!!

Pretty in pink- lets PLAY!

This is pretty neat....

Look at that face!!!!
This is the "oh mom, another picture?!",
grin-n-bear-it face!!

She thinks going down face first is much better
than sitting on her bum! So funny...
no matter how hard we tried to get her to sit,
she flipped right onto her tummy
smiling and laughing all the way down!

Just-for-Fun Pics!

BRIGHTLIE
D. Reidhead

She loves to play in the tub, and enjoys all her water friends. Today, she
even helped put them all away- what a good helper!

With a tiny bit of help, she easily gets in and out of
the tub!

Brightlie's little rocking chair is her new favorite
seat, and she loves to read her books :)
Playing with my baby is so much fun!

She loves the "doga" (doggie)

Playing with the remotes (eating them too) is quite fun!

B loves to cuddle with a comfy blanket and a good book!

Her sleepy, just-woke-up-from-my-nap, look :)

Brightlie loves her crib! She is so happy in there, just playing :)

And she loves momma's phone & sitting on the
couch like a big girl

Funny pic- so please click on it and enlarge it....
notice that B is completely in the cubby, and the actors on TV
look like they are looking right at her... Paul loved this pic!

Anna & Brightlie- best friends (and sleepy heads)

Brightlie's room... we put the bookcase up on her dresser
and put a CD player in there too. Also, we ordered her a new bedspread(to come)
and we discovered that this crib converts to a toddler bed
(which we didn't know when we bought it) So that will be coming soon...
HURRAY! :)

Daughter dearest....

Dear Brightlie....
I can't believe that you are already 14 months old today. My heart has been full all day, thinking about how much love we have for you. It seems like yesterday I was crying as I showed your daddy the pregnancy test (positive!), crying at the doctors when he announced you were a girl, and crying in the hospital the moment your were placed in my arms. Words cannot express how much I love everyday I have with you! You were such a good baby, sleeping through the night, a good eater, healthy and beautiful. And now you are a toddler, running laughing, exploring. Time is moving so fast, I wish I could make you stay little just a little longer. I love when you give me kisses, hold my hand, and plop down in my lap to cuddle. I love everything about you!
I can't help but think about your future, and the role we will play in it... will you be happy? Will you feel loved? Will you be self-confident and a leader? Will you talk with us and share with us your dreams? Will you go to college? Will you be a friend to others? Will you see that even though we make mistakes, we loved you and tried our best to raise you in righteousness? Will you believe in the strength of marriage and the truth of Eternal Families? Will you turn to us when life is hard? Will you tell us all about your first love, and your first heartache? I hope so... I hope that we will always be best friends.... because that is how my mom and I were.
We love you so much and are so proud of you. You are so smart, pretty, and happy. You were born to standout, and you already do! I know that I will love all of our children, but between us, it is hard to imagine that you could be anything less than my favorite. I love you so much. Happy 14 months, Princess.

HAPPY 2011!!!!

New Years Day was a blast, as we spent the day with my Mom's family, the Schupple's (& Knights). My Uncle Bill & his Family were here from UT, so we spent the day having a family reunion at Peter Piper Pizza, and later played a funny game of Soccer (Everyone is in a huge circle with Chairs... goals is to guard
your chair so the ball doesn't hit it, otherwise you have to sit down... but when the person who got you has to sit down, then you get to stand back up...crazy fun!!!) I love Bill's family and it was nice to see my ALL my cousins... I hadn't seen most of them in a yr. and sometimes I forget that I have family :)
And not that I have favorites, but my cousin Brad is the most awesome guy ever! I was so excited to see him (we are the same age) and he always makes me smile. He just adored Brightlie, and it was fun to have him visit!
So, yes, our New Years Day was a great start to the New Year! I hope to spend more time with family, and get to know my cousins better!
