Simple moments, lasting memories

Life at our house has been rather simple lately, but still, we are enjoying simple moments.  I am prego-sick, Paul is super busy, and Brightlie is all toddler!  But we are happy and life is good!  It's the small things that make each day, each week, and yr. add up to a lifetime of happy memories of joy, love, and laughter.

Fall @ the Reidhead Home

No fun pics, but i decided to do a little update on life.
Kristi: I am about 10 weeks along....and still sickly as ever.  It has greatly dampened my spirits this week cuz i realized- i LOVE the holiday season (Oct-Jan. 1) and when i'm prego i can't enjoy any of it the same!  The biggest reason (aside from being sick) is that when i'm prego i become a vegetarian... the smell, sight, and even the idea of any type of meat makes me barf (literally).  Weird i know, but it was the same with B until i deliver.  That means.... no fall chili cook offs, no turkey at Thanksgiving, no delicious fall stews, no hot dog roasts around the fire, and no Christmas ham goodness.  :(  it breaks my heart.  So i am feeling a little gloomy, although the colder weather makes me happy.
Brightlie:  But, with joy we are looking forward to the arrival of Brightlie's 2nd birthday!  (Party on Nov. 5th- get excited!) Hopefully i can pull something together.  :)  I can't believe how big she is!
Paul:  As graduation comes nearer (May) and Paul starts applying for jobs (which is already is) we are hit with the realization that we may have to move.... yes, that's right move!  We are not sure where we will go, or what   new lands we may see, but it sure is going to be an adventure!  :)

B's 1st ER visit....

This past week Brightlie had her first ER visit at Banner Ironwood, while her mommy had a nervous breakdown!   It all started with Brightlie's love for climbing.  She decided that she would try to climb up on one of our bar-stools (which i constantly discourage, so she rarely gets away with it) but apparently i was not paying enough attention (although i was in the same room, cleaning!)  Anyways, all of a sudden i hear a THUD, and look over to see my baby on the ground (carpet, luckily) with the bar-stool on top of her!  As i run over and pick her up, and as she begins screaming at the top of her lungs, i see before my very eyes ....... a huge bump on her forehead!  AND it is protruding out of her head like in a cartoon!!!!  (yes, straight up with stars and horse shoes swirling around it- it was awful!)  I panick, grab my phone and call B's pediatrician.  As i frantically explain, the receptionist puts me straight through to the doctor, who suggests that we instantly go to the ER  due to head trauma. Thus, i rush B and myself out the door.  Her forehead/goose-egg is already deep bluish green. I rush to the hospital and luckily they see us right away.  Although i was panicked, b wasn't crying, although she clung to me and was scared of the doc & nurses.  But, the doctor was very good with her/kids, and i was impressed.  He even got B to give him a high five.  The nurses fell in love with her, and gave her 4 stickers and a Popsicle.  She was quite the star (prob cuz the ER was nearly empty while we were there).  It was a scary ordeal for me, but b was great, and thankfully the doctor said that she had a mild concussion, would have a bad headache, and a giant goose-egg for the next 2 weeks.  But NO brain swelling or internal damage.   Life at our home is always exciting!  :)  Glad B is okay!

DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!

Last weekend we spent three days in CA, and the main event was spending all day Saturday at DL!  It was Brightlie's 1st time to this magical place, and we were so thrilled!  I bought her an adorable minnie mouse pj set, a DL Minnie dress off Esty (super cute!) and even pre-bought mickey mouse ears!  Well, when we arrived in CA we realized that the only thing we had left behind (of course!) was Brightlie's entire duffel bag!  Yep, i cried. So, we made a quick shopping spree at target (shoes, clothes, pjs) and then the rest of the trip was great!  We were excited to spend time with my sister Stephanie since she is going to the middle east on deployment next month.  She was very good to Brightlie, and bought her a very cute polka-dot outfit for DL on Sat.  And B loved all the attention!  Although it was a little rough with an almost 2 yr. old who didn't want to wait in 40+ minute long lines for a ride... it was a blast just to be there!  (Prob won't take her again til she is older though).   She loved the big balloon Auntie Steph got her, and enjoyed just seeing everything!  I was pretty sick most of the day, but i still enjoyed the magic of it all.  And Paul was happy to have a a break from school. :)
