Today was good, today was fun, tomorrow is another one! - Dr. Suess

So, Paul (for my birthday last week) bought me tickets to go to the Broadway Palms Dinner Theater to see SUESSICAL the MUSICAL!  I was very excited!  Dinner and a date with my hubby, and I love plays and i love Dr. Suess!    It was quite awesome, and we had a blast.

Then on Sat. (yesterday)
Paul attacked our garage, BUILDING by himself, by hand,
2 giant storage shelves so that we could organize our garage!
It took him 3 days to complete them, and he did a great job!  So
glad i married a handy-man who likes to get stuff done!
A wonderful 4 hour organizing project took place on Sat.,
but Paul and I got down and dirty and got it all done!
 hard work, I tell you!
And yes, when the world's end come we will be ready!
Check out all our massive food storage!  And although you can't tell, each
of those silver cans are 3 cans deep. So multiply 3deep x about 40 across.
Then we also have the huge white, wheat bins, and more food storage inside,
in our 2nd pantry!  We are quite pleased! (and a big thanks to my mom,
because all of this stuff in our garage is hers!  What an amazing testimony she leaves of the
importance and faith she had in having a strong food storage!)

And last, but not least....
 our sweet sweet sweet girl!
So pretty after church in her new dress!
She does so well in nursery, and her teachers love having her in class :)
She is such a joy in our home, her enthusiastic
spirit lights up our lives each day!
 So BEAUTIFUL!
(Yes, can you tell i'm her mom-sorry, but i like to brag
about my baby!)

cAlIfOrNiA VaCaTiOn!

We had  blast in Cali this week!  It was just the vacation we needed now that Paul has finished this semester of school with all A's!  So off we went with Brightlie for 4 days of non-stop fun in the sun!  It was great to spend so much time with my sweet hubby and my adorable baby!  What an excellent way to
relax and have some fun!

AT THE SAN DIEGO ZOO!
We had fun at the zoo, even though it was pouring!
We went on a 40 min. tour of the zoo via a trolley which was really cool.
The animals were all out and about, and it was really cool to
see polar bears, giraffes, rhinos, elephants, lions, etc.!
B loved seeing all the animals!

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS (in LA)
At Universal Studios we got to see some really cool things, watch some live shows, and see sets from Fast & Furious, Ghost Whisperer, The Grinch,  the actual robotic shark from Jaws, War of the Worlds, and a 3D tunnel of King Kong (along with many more!)
The statue on the right is actually a person!  :)

Brightlie was having so much fun!

SEA PORT VILLAGE
Our family at Sea Port Village! My favorite tourist place for cute
shops and a beautiful walk along the bay!

MISSON BEACH
B loved it!  And was quite happy playing with her
sand toys!

The water was chilly, but the view was great!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy to ME!!!!!

For my 25th birthday Paul took me to H& M @ Scottsdale Fashion Sq. Mall for new clothes! Then Tiffany & Amanda came over to eat cake and hangout! (Best friends since 4th & 6th grade! LOVE YOU GIRLS!) And Paul took me out to dinner at Baci's Italian, and then we hit up Harkins for Fast & Furious 5!  :)

I turned 25 on May 11!  Crazy how fast time goes, and how much I have
survived/ accomplished in my life.  Therefore......10 major events in my life that have happened
just since my last BIG birthday (turning 21):
1. Said "I DO" to my hubby the month before!
2. Had my first adventure living in an apartment, the 2nd place I'd ever lived (yep, lived in the same house, same bed room for 21 yrs.!)
3.  Graduated from ASU!!!
4. Found out I was Prego  :)
5. Took care of my mother for the last yr. of her life, planned an entire funeral, sold my moms house, and visited her grave, and died a little inside.
6.  Moved into OUR first home!   (And was asked by our neighbors to be their surrogate!- I said yes,  however, they are  hoping to get prego on their own first . . . . to be contd!)
7. Had a baby! (After 9 months of intense sickness!)  She is so worth it!!!!
8. Was a YW leader and now a Primary teacher in church love teaching our 7 yr. olds!
9.  Put one dog down (Summer), got a new dog (Rigby), and still love the other one, too (Noel)!
10.  Dealt with extreme loss, heartache, stress, depression, a rough start to marriage, loneliness, and a broken self---- but I also FOUND peace, healing, strength, love, friends, motherhood, a closer relationship with God, and a relationship with Paul that truly testifies that love conquers all.

My life is and has never been easy- I have known that from a young age. I've often asked myself, why me?  I have often been jealous of friends and loved ones who could not comfort me in my times of sorrow- why not them?  Misery loves company...  BUT, the Lord has a plan for me.  I am stronger and am becoming the person the Lord wants me to be.
Sometimes when your heart is shattered, the Lord gives you a moment to step back and cry.  But then he asks you to collect all the pieces.  It is not an easy process, but He is there to help you pick them up.  Then He hands you the glue and tells you you can do it.  And then you have to figure out how to put it back together (with His help of course).  And as you work on it, some of the pieces are a little bit different, but they are better, and you are better, and slowly but surely you start to see your heart taking shape again. And you fill it with experience, hope, and empathy.  And somehow, the beat is even stronger... And so is your soul.
Despite all my trials, my life has been very blessed.  I look forward to the future!  It's been a crazy 1/4 of a century- can't wait to see what the rest hold!

May is here! (part 1)

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
5/8/11

Happy Mother's day to my sweet mother
who I love so dearly- my best friend, my personal cheerleader,
my advocate, my go-to.  She is
one of the greatest people I know, and through her
struggles, I am who I am today.  Her example of faith is
truly inspiring. I miss her, but I
am grateful to know I will one day be with her again.

Happy Mother's day to me!!!!
I love being a MOM- i truly do.  It is so fun to spend each day with my best lil friend-
I take Brightlie everywhere with me!  And there are rough days- poopy diapers,
crying (me & B), tiredness, too much to clean, groceries to get, and days where being a mom
seems like a lot of hard work-
but most of the time I am busy having fun, playing, learning,
teaching, helping, holding, hugging, reading to, and smiling at my beautiful baby girl! (who is now a toddler!)
I truly enjoy being Brightlie's mom and am so blessed to have such a
loving a supportive hubby!

 Paul bought be beautiful flowers
 And he made breakfast!

Brightlie (Paul) bought me a fabulous new purse
 for Mother's Day! YAY!

And Paul picked out this amazing card- so me, right?!

 hahahahahhahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

And finally, Paul made me a delicious dinner of
chicken enchiladas, layered bean-dip, chips, and sparkling cider.  Yum!
Thanks Paul and Brightlie- i am loved!!!!

Below are 2 of the funniest and most true little 'mom'ism videos you have ever seen!

The doctor said she looks great, although she rarely sees 18 month old's as tall as B!  :)  We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, healthy, joyful child!
We love you miss Brightlie!
At the Splash Pad- what fun!
So pretty!  She loved being at the 'beach'

Happy.... kinda....B thought the water was a little scary...

Yes, they totally freaked out when it was picture time- go figure  :)
But i think B's face is priceless, poor thing... obviously it was way past nap time!
