Sugar & Spice

"Sugar & spice and everything nice, that's what little girls are made of!"

This past week....daily life at the Reidhead Home:
Peyton tried rice cereal for the first time...
she didn't really try to eat it, but at least she was smiling!

Brightlie is really into Play Dough right now-
she thinks it is so fun, so i was thrilled to find this awesome
super rainbow pack with 20 colors and toys included for only $12.
And the joy on her face .... priceless!

Because B is in 3T and Peyton is in 3month, i rarely find them
matching clothes... but when i do- it is AWESOME!  :)
I love seeing how cute they are, all dressed up in matching clothes,
just being best friends/sisters!

Brightlie has a wonderful imagination, and her favorite
toys/friends are her stuffed animals. She has about 20 of them- honest.
She laughs with them, talks to them, plays with them.  She sleeps with
them, brings them in the car, tried to give one a bath the other day.
It is so fun to see her have conversations with them and play pretend...
what a funny little sweetheart i have!

Peyton is turning out to be a thumb sucker.  B loved her binky-
Peyton could care less for one.  She spits it out after 1 minute.
Instead she has found her thumb- oh no!  But, she sure looks cute!

B and P love to go out on play dates.  This past week we met up with B's
friends at Chick-fil-A.  It was lots of fun.  I love taking my girls out
on fun little lunch outings!
Brightlie knows all the sounds all the animals make, and loves
any and all pets/farm animals.  So, she was thrilled to get a special
moment with daddy this afternoon when her showed her the cute little toad
that he found in our bkyard when he was mowing.
(I'm not sure how it got in our yrd., but B sure was excited)
B: "Daddy!  Frogs eat bugs, and go outside, and go 'ribbit, ribbit'"!
Brightlie is our little smart cookie.

Our happy little miss Peyton.  I decided to take a few pics of her,
just for fun.  I sure do love her happy face and her big blue eyes!
That is about it for us this week.  Life with 2 little girls is so much fun!
I love painting toes, pink bows, cute clothes, stuffed animals, princesses,
play dough, play makeup, and all the other fun stuff that B is into right now.
GIRLS are the best!!!!

Shots & Suckers

So, this week we got to take Peyton to her 4 month wellness visit.  She is getting so big!  I love this girl- she is so very sweet and so smiley!  She is such a doll.  Everyone who sees her seems to mention the word "doll" and comments on her big blue eyes and long eyelashes.  I love that she is a cuddly baby, and loves to be held.
PEYTON- 4 months old!

 On the scale, getting weighed.
We are happy that Peyton is growing, healthy, and happy.  Her measurements/ percentile are:
Weight:   12 lbs. 9 oz.     (25% - 50%)
Height:     24 in.              (50% - 75%)
Head:      39.5 cm           (10% - 25%)

Getting checked out by her doctor
(Mrs.) Dr. Tracy Frausto ~ East Valley Pediatrics
So, she is overall fairly close to average, although her head is still relatively small.  Dr. Frausto said that she thinks Peyton looks great and is a very pretty baby. The bad news:  She said she is a little worried about the back of P's head, since it is a bit flat (since Peyton loves to lay on the floor and hates tummy time).  So, at the next appt. we will have to really look at that and see if she will need a helmet. :(  Also, she is sending Peyton to a Pulmonary Specialist to see if her airway valves are just small or what, since P has a hard time if she cries too hard (she starts wheezing, choking, and sounds like she can't breathe).
Also, Peyton had to get 6 shots since we missed her 2 month wellness visit since she was sick and on medicine, so that made me pretty sad.  I hate shots, so i took Brightlie and left the room when the nurses came in for the shots.  I knew if i broke down, B would have a nervous breakdown too, so we went to use the potty, and came back and Peyton was all done!

Nurse Tara and Peyton after her shots.
Our favorite person is the head nurse, Tara, who is so very
enthusiastic whenever she sees Brightlie.  She is a great nurse,
and is always so willing to smile for pictures, give Brightlie stickers
& a sucker, and compliment my kiddos (and me as their mom).

 Nurse Tara, Brightlie, and Peyton.
Brightlie is a such a great big sister.  She stood by Peyton most of the time,
and was quite concerned at what the Dr. and Nurse were doing to her sister.
So cute!  In this pic she was so worried about why P was sad and
kept saying "it's ok Peyton".  What a good sister!!!

Me & my girls!
(I'm smiling & happy everything went smoothly. B has a sucker in her mouth.
And poor pout-faced Miss Peyton was ready to get out of there!)

Fun facts about our little 4 month old Miss Peyton:
- Loves to be held, but also loves to lay flat on her back on the floor and just wriggle and kick her feet
- Smiles all the time!
- Loves to "stand" and has very strong legs
- Is getting close to teething, and is becoming very drooly.
- Is very possibly going to be a thumb-sucker.  She doesn't really like binkies, but prefers to suck on her fist.
- Is my cuddle bug!
- Has a strong neck and good head/neck control.  Loves to look around at everything!
- Sleeps every night in her swing, doesn't sleep for long if it isn't moving.
- Loves to be in the pool or in the bath tub- she just really enjoys water!

We sure love our little Miss Peyton!
Such a sweetie- we are so blessed to have her in our family!

not much...

So, the past two weeks have been pretty un-eventful as far as pictures.  My girls are happy and we have been enjoying Brightlie's newest discoveries: Barney, Dinosaur Train, & Dora (on netflix).  Oh, how the theme songs get stuck in your head! haha.  I've never been into Barney, and Dora is kinda annoying as she stares at you, but luckily i like Dinosaur Train, so i guess it's alright.  When i was growing up, it was all about Sesame Street.
Peyton is getting bigger and bigger, but she is still small.  She will be going to her 4 month appt. on Thurs. this week, so I am excited to she how much she weighs.  She is still in 3 month clothes- i tried to put her into an adorable 3-6 month outfit, but it swallowed her.  This is so different, since Brightlie was always a the next size up from her age.
Paul is enjoying his job and doing well.  He has gotten to be friends with some of his co-workers and enjoys going out to lunch with them.  He is also getting good feedback for a job well done, so he is happy that his bosses seem pleased with him.  We are hoping for an official position/salary upgrade in December! (Currently he is on a 6 month contract, with the opportunity for hire at the end of the 6 months).
I am just enjoying my girls.  Brightlie is talking more and more, and is so dramatic and animated  She is so girly too, i love it!  And Peyton is doing well, sleeping through the night, a sweet baby, and is just a sweetie.
Oh, i went shopping this weekend- that was fun! Paul let me enjoy a "girls" day with my friend Elisha.  We spent the whole day Saturday, tackling Last Chance and Chandler Mall.  I bought 5 pairs of shoes, a shirt, and a dress from Last Chance, and then i bought a watch from Nordstrom's. We also stopped by Gap and i got a couple really cute clearance items for the girls @ an additional 25% off- SCORE!
Well, that is about all..... but we are happy, healthy, and enjoying daily adventures at home.
